I have only been a ‘proper’ scientist for about a year, before this the only science experience I had was being a student

I have been a scientist now for three years and then three years before that studying and working at the university!

I finished my biology degree in 2009 and have been a proper scientist since! So if you don’t count the 3 years in uni it’s 8 years. I spent 4 years working for an animal pharmaceutical company (making medicines for animals-cats, dogs and farm animals) and then I came back to uni and I’ve been doing my PhD since! 🙂

I started studying microbiology at university which I started in 2001. Since then I have always been studying science or in a scientific job. So, it’s about 16 years for me.
