I was originally interested in zoology (animal science) which lead me to work at Blackpool Zoo where I would perform the animal talks to teach people about all areas of animal science; behaviour, physiology, reproduction, evolution and nutrition 😊

This was really fun as it alllowed me to get really close to some rare animals such as penguins, lemurs and giraffes…. though I didn’t stand anywhere near the tigers and lions!!!

If you like writing you can think about journalism, people often tell me I’d be good at being a news reporter to report the science news! I’m yet to figure out if this is a compliment or not! Anyway there is that, also all science work is published in scientific journals so you can work with those. From a different side you can work under health and safety and be in charge of these regulations either at a uni or for a company. Of course there is also teaching, you can study the subject you like and then go on to teach it! The options are endless 🙂

There are so many! Any food producing industry will have need a scientist. Water/sewage industries also need scientific testers. You need science to be a forensic investigator, a physiotherapist, chiropractor and even a sports therapist.
