Cancer can be slowed down but there is no 100% cure for all cancers.

There are so many causes of cancer that there can’t be one treatment for all of it. We’ll have to see what happens as research continues to expand

Cancer is a broad term for a huge number of different diseases caused when cells grow uncontrollably. A type of treatment called immunotherapy is very promising where the immune system is harnessed to kill cancer cells (the immune system normally does this anyway, but cancer cells find a way to avoid this from happening).

I wrote a longer article on it here:

Enhancing the immune system to destroy cancer cells

Cancer is tricky becasue it is often very specific and effects different cells, tissues and people differently. This means we dont have a simple cure for all cancers.

If we catch a cancer early enough sometimes we can remove it or kill the cancer cells and the person can have a completley normal life but there are often very high risks that the cancer could come back. We need to keep funding research into cancer so that we can create as many specific treatments as possible to tackle the disease.
