Question: On a day to day basis what would you say you do most?

do experiments in the lab and interpret results, plan the next steps and analyse data on a computer. I also have to write a lot of reports that informs the government so that new policies can be developed to prevent foodborne illnesses in the UK.

Every day is different. Today I looked at my cells, prepared a presentation and planned experiments!

I do some reading every day, this is to check I am up to date with the newest scientific facts and so I can share these with my students and colleagues.
