      Plasma is a part of blood and it is made up of water, salts and enzymes. It can carry nutrients, hormones, and proteins to different parts of the body and is vital in people suffering from trauma, shocks, burns and other conditions. Additionally important for the normal functioning of our body.

      Plasma makes up just over 50% of our blood! It is there to help transport important substances for our health, such as nutrients, around the body so that all the cells of the body are properly nourished! If you ever donate blood, the plasma will be used to save people from dying from very bad burns and other emergencies.

      Blood plasma works by moving our nutrients, salts and sugars around the body so they can get to the cells that need them. When the body is damaged in an accident plasma is very important as it brings in nutrients to start healing and closing the wound and to fight infection. Plasma is part of our blood but on its own it looks like a yellow liquid.
