      If you are talking about chick that’s born: The hen has to mate with the rooster before formation of egg which is then fertilised and a chick is hatched after hen sits on it for about 21 days.

      the cells divide and then different cells decide to specialise and take on different functions. Together all of the cells form a living thing. For example, skin cells, liver cells, brain cells.

      To produce a baby (of most species) an egg has to be fertilised by sperm. This starts the process of cells dividing and growing into the complicated body of the baby.
