by contamination of bugs from animal feces in drinking water (in the rural areas where there is private water supply)/by eating food that is not cooked properly (eg: chickens that contain a dangerous bug that can make us sick. Its called Campylobacter)

Transmission through poop, urine and other gross things into the environment then ingestion by people e.g through contaminated water or contaminated meat. Transmission via an insect e.g. Mosquito bites.
