I’d love it if I could see my science helping people.
I want my science to help children that find it hard to understand complicated books. There is already a lot of help for children in schools, but I’m sure we can do better. We need good science to understand why some children find reading hard and to know what the best way of helping them is.
Oh these are great questions but really difficult 🙂
I would like to be able to inspire lots of children to think like scientists and want to work in a science job.
I would like to discover a way to be able to be able to stop the spread of heart disease and a way to tell us earlier which people might be at risk from heart attacks.
I would love to give one of the ‘Christmas Lectures’ at the Royal Institute in London one day. Or be invited to give a ‘TED’ talk – the talks are given by people who are at the best in their jobs, or who make a difference in the world so I’d have to really do something amazing to get there. So that’s my ambition- to do something that will make a positive difference to the world so that I get to stand up and tell everyone about it!
I don’t think I have REALLY long-term ambition (I don’t really think that far ahead).
I want to finish my PhD, and I’d really like to publish some of my work for others to see.
Outside work, I’d love to canoe across Canada, camping by the river and seeing all kinds of great scenery!
