Mars is much colder than the Earth. It has a very thin atmosphere, way too thin to trap heat so the average temperature is about -60 Celsius. That’s not quite as cold as the coldest temperature ever recorded on Earth (-89.2 Celsius). But in Winter at the poles Mars can be as cold as -125 degrees Celsius. In summer on the equator of Mars it can get as hot at 70 degrees Celsius, which is hotter than the hottest temperature recorded on Earth (58 degrees Celsius).
