        You need a good education both at school and then at college. Then you need to train in Police school for around 1 year, which includes practical experience with a qualified police officer.

        You should ask your teacher to see if they can invite a police officer to come and speak at your school.

        There are also different ways to work with the Police. The Police work with forensic scientists for example who can use science to figure out what type of car made certain tyre tracks. It would be good to get someone into your school though!

        I agree with Waqar and Melissa, getting a police officer into your school would be a great way to ask about what you need to do to be a police officer.
        When you’re older you can even spend some time with your local police force, seeing what the different jobs are like. I did this when I was in secondary school, and was allowed to take someone fingerprints 🙂
