• Question: Why is the sun the only star we can see?

      The sun is the only star we see during the daytime due to how close it is to Earth compared to other stars but its not the only star we can see… On a clear night look up to the sky and I’m sure you’ll see plenty of twinkly stars!

      Exactly as Emma says – the sun is the only star we see during the day because it’s really close to us compared to others, but there are thousands of stars in the sky that we can see twinkling at night 🙂

      As Emma said stars are other suns, if it twinkles then it is a star, if it has a constant light it is probably a planet and if it flashes red and green someone is going on holiday!

      The farthest star it is possible to see without a telescope is called V762 Cas in Cassiopeia at 16,308 light-years away! no need for specsavers there!
