I have worked with pigeons, bumblebees and honeybees, and grey and red squirrels. Squirrel by far is my favorite animals to work with! When I set up some puzzle boxes in the field, I saw they worked very hard to get their favorite food (hazelnuts) – they teach me two key factors to success – be persistent and…practice! If you have time to see them in the wild, look at how agile they are – they leap from one branch to another branch with ease, and they are smart enough to use different ways to solve problems (leading one to think that they may be a bit cheeky)!
