• Question: if you had to invent something that would help you achieve what you want but also help others, what would it be?

      Hi 964memp34, this is a brilliant question. I am actually going to steal an invention from my favorite book the Hitchhikers Guide to Universe. In this book there is something called the ‘point of view gun’. If you shoot someone with it they can take your point of view! I think this gun if mass produced could change humanity. The world needs more empathy and understanding, and people often just don’t get where other people are coming from. You can see this in the UK at the moment regarding Brexit, and in the states regarding Trump. Being unable to see things from other peoples perspectives has probably caused countless wars in human history! Imagine if every argument you ever had could be resolved with this thing.       I would give anything to be able to build a teleportation machine! There would be so many mass benefits to it!!!!
      We wouldn’t have to be apart from the people we love- we’d easily be able to see them whenever we want. And everyone would get to be exposed to different places and cultures and that kind of learning is bound to increase openmindedness.
      We wouldn’t need to rely on other forms of transportation which would save money and resources and dramatically reduce pollution and it’s negative impact on climate.
      I think a machine like that would also help reduce the divide between countries because now it’s so easy to go from one to the other that people wouldn’t get so worked up about alleged burden of immigration and stuff like that. People could travel between countries as easily as they would from their home to the corner shop so they could reap the benefits of all sorts of places while getting to stay in their home countries.
      And then when it comes to stuff like health, people in poorer countries would be able to receive life saving treatment from places that they otherwise cannot travel to!
