Hi Josh, great question 🙂 Dreams can indeed reveal things, including concerns and worries, that you might be both aware and unaware of. While sometimes dream situations might be quite literal (if you are worried about a house fire so dream of a house fire), there is also evidence that dreams can also contain ‘metaphorical’ thinking. In this sense objects, items, and situations in a given dream can indirectly represent an ongoing issue or worry you might have (for example a tap flowing loudly if you are scared of drowning). There are some types of therapy, specifically one called the ‘Ullman technique’, which gets people to explore both the direct and indirect meanings found in their dream experiences. So yes, your dream experiences can reveal a lot about you, and this can also be useful!
