yes. i definitely believe in evolution. there’s a good amount of evidence to support it. that being said, since it is still called the theory of evolution and you have to be open minded in science, if someone were to find overwhelming evidence to support another idea i’d be open to hearing it!

Yes very much so. It is one of the most important discoveries in biology (of which psychology is an offshoot) and also science in general. Evolution frames us as a species in relation to the animal kingdom and provides a set of principles which allows us to understand the reason certain traits exist across all life on earth. I ‘believe’ in evolution because there is about 150 years of supporting evidence from all sorts of areas and at all sorts of levels. To date, there has been no evidence that ‘disproves’ evolution, and should some ever emerge the person that discovered it would win a lot of awards! As that hasn’t happened yet consider me a believer! Check out this cool video for more information on how evolution works 🙂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhHOjC4oxh8
Thanks for this question. There is a difference in what we understand as theory as scientists compared to non-scientific people. To scientists , theory is not something that one believes or not; it’s a set of observations and an organised system of mechanisms that gives rise to these events. So one cannot “believe or not believe ” in evolution – it’s an extremely well-grounded proposal of how different forms evolved from each other and by what mechanisms. There is absolutely no doubt about it.
