I’m afraid I don’t know much about astrology beyond my own star sign though I wish I knew more!

Hi Queensie, thanks for the question. I don’t really believe in astrology, no. It is the principle that the planets and stars influence day-to-day human events (as read in things like horoscopes). There is no real scientific evidence that this is a thing which means scientists will often refer to astrology as a ‘pseudoscience’. While objects in our solar system can influence our daily lives (e.g. the moons gravity helps control our tides and the sun provides energy for life) that does not mean these things directly control our luck or love life! I do, however, believe in astronomy (the scientific study of stars and the universe) which a lot of people mix up with astrology.

YES, but from a very scientific point of view – what we do know is that our bodies do follow many different cycles: spread across seconds, daily, monthly but also yearly! The latter is well demonstrated by the seasonal affective disorder – and its mild forms of being sluggish and less active during fall and winter. So I can imagine there could be some differences in the quality of our brain, cognitive and social development that are linked to when in the year we are born: across different seasons, there are differences in the amount of light outside (and so amount of time spent in activities outside versus at home, with less natural light), and also the availability of fruits and vegetables at periods of time that might be critical in forming some functions of our nervous system that occur at a given moment in a sequence. However, mind you, the traditional seasons are not there in many areas around the globe – so even if there is some truth in those (I think for now these are mainly assumptions, speaking from the point of view of science), it certainly doesn’t apply to everyone equally. 🙂
