Absolutely nothing to do with my work but an affordable robot to do the ironing. I hate ironing!

I would want to invent a better way to do MRI scanning, so that the quality of the images is much better. Right now, there can be a lot of noise in these images. By noise, I mean black and white speckles that make the image look a bit fuzzy. Sometimes this noise is okay, for seeing the outline of an organ or tumour, for example.

But for the research I do, we use these images to do physics and computer simulations of the body, and the noise becomes a huge huge problem to overcome. So if there was less, we could solve a lot more interesting problems, and probably learn much more about how the body works.

I’m going into the realm of sci-fi and magic here as I don’t see this ever being possible, and it’s also not my field but I’d like to invent a way to travel faster than light! Which would then also open up avenues to the invention of the time travel machine.
