Nuclear medicine uses radioactive materials and the natural processes of the body to help diagnose the treat disease. Often we manufacture the drugs we use on site, combining a radioactive version on to a molecule to mimic how different chemicals would naturally be transported and used around the body.

The important distinction between nuclear medicine and other areas of medicine is that we are working with the function and physiology of the body, not just the anatomy.
