Was never really a choice as a) we couldn’t vote in the US election, and b) Obama could not stand for election a 3rd time due to the US constitutional rules.
However, I find Trump incredibly divisive, dishonest, incompetent, abusive… and many other words that are not at all positive!
I can’t make your political choices for you, and nor should anyone else as you should weigh up all the evidence to come to your own decision. Evidence based decision making is critical in all aspects of life, try not to let emotions get in the way of good, logical choices. (Trump is the opposite of that, there is no evidence for most of the things he says and he relies on fired up emotions for his support).

Sorry but I don’t feel qualified to answer this one. I’m not in the US so I don’t think I’ve got enough information about it. Anyway, even the scientists I work with have different political views so there’s no “one size fits all” option for things like that.

I’m american so I did get to vote for (or against) these two.
Politics is very very complex. That’s why its not science. We only use the word science for things that are simple. Rocket science, for example, may sound complex but there are some very nice maths equations that tell us how rockets work. There’s no equations for politics!

Science research depends on the movement of people around the world to share ideas etc. Some of my colleagues can’t go to upcoming conferences in America because of Trump’s travel ban 🙁
