We should certainly try to eat a more varied diet and stop the over demand on certain crops/species

We as humans should do our best to live within the means and resources available to us at all times. We should never take more of a resource than is able to regenerate naturally. That applies to everything from tuna to the amount of space we take up. We’re not very good at it, though. The fact that you guys are so aware of things like this is a brilliant sign for the future, though. If you’re prepared to speak up for important issues, at some point the people in power will have to listen!

Yes. I think its very important to, not only keep species from going extinct, but also to keep species near their “original” population levels. Diversity is important in biology and allowing a species to go extinct could have unforeseen consequences.

Fishing laws are a tricky thing to get right. Sometimes these laws lead to effects that people didn’t foresee as well. And on the other hand, it would be very difficult to just ban fishing, since its an important part of the economy of many communities. Alaska is a place that seems to get this balance right, or at least close to right.

I do. As humans we have a responsibility to look after the natural environment, including the other animals on the planet. This means, among other things, trying our hardest to save species from extinction if possible, especially if we played a part in reducing their population numbers, either directly or indirectly. I think we are doing a pretty poor job on the whole but that’s a whole other discussion I guess..!

We have to get better at managing our natural resources, this includes the over exploitation of our fish popultaions above what is sustainable
