At university, we get a lot of opportunities for public engagement. In physics we even have an outreach committee who’s job it is to organise all of the outreach events and to involve the students. I am currently working on a model to demonstrate how MRI works and if I were to win, my model would definitely be used at a lot of events and even after I leave university.
Vote for Jen!
I think I should only get your vote if you have either enjoyed a chat with me, or enjoyed reading my answers to the questions. Or if you think I am going to make good use of the prize (I want to spend it on resources that would help me explain my job to primary and secondary children, like a small scale replica linear accelerator).
I think you should vote for whoever you think communicates best with you and who you think has good ideas about what they’d do with the prize money – if you find one of us is really good at answering your questions and talking to you, they’d probably put on a really good exhibit! (And of course that person is meeeeeeeeeeee!)
Vote for Laura!! I need the sympathy vote haha. I am currently in bed really ill with no voice yet still trying to answer as many questions on here as possible.
But no I agree with the others you should pick the person who can best answer all your questions and the scientist you think has the best idea to spend the money on.
All the others have answered, so I can say what I like!
You should vote for me because I am the most amazingly cool, awesome person ever. All the other scientists are boring and ordinary but I am the most fun, witty kinda guy you could ever hope to meet.
Not really! You should vote for me because there is still far too much misinformation out there about whether radiation is harmful or not, and people need to know this stuff if they’re going to live in the modern world, so I want to educate people about that.
