There is lots of healthy foods out there all with different benefits and you are always seeing in the news lots of current crazes on which is the ‘new superfood.’ It is important to have a balance of these and not just stick to one.

You need to eat a balanced diet to be healthy, with protein, carbohydrate, fat fibre and vitamins/minerals, plus plenty of water. Things like sugar, salt and fat taste nice because way back in prehistory, they used to be hard to get hold of so our ancestors evolved to try and get them whenever they could. The problem in the West is that we now have such easy access to food that it’s easy to binge on the stuff that tastes nice and eat way too much sugar, salt and fat. If you want to stay healthy, you need to eat enough of all the food groups, not too much of any one of them, and make sure you get plenty of exercise.

There are lots of things that are good for you in different ways. Spinach, blueberries, garlic (although maybe not all three together!). The important thing is to make sure you get a balanced diet with all the vitamins and nutrients you need, and not to binge on sugary stuff!

My best guess would be kale or another green veg.
      Wholefoods rates foods with ANDI:
      http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/healthy-eating/andi-guide
and using this criteria, the top scorers (with an ANDI of 1000) are:
      1. Mustard/Turnip/Collard Greens
      2. Kale
      3. Swiss Chard
      4. Upland/Watercress
It’s all the green stuff. You cant live on that alone, but adding some into your diet will definitely give you a boost!

I would say that the healthiest food is what your body requires for the activity that you are doing. Your body requires carbohydrates, protein, fat, vitamins, minerals and fibre to function properly.
