At secondary school (state girls school) I was in the top ~10 in my year. In A levels I was sort of in the middle-top of my classes and at university I was usually middle-ish for smarts, but did well due to putting in the effort. (I got a 2:1, not a first class degree, but I don’t think that’s held me back, I have got every job/training I applied for which I suspect isn’t that common!)
Not really. There were a few kids cleverer than me in maths but I came within the top 3 for science. In A levels I would say I probably was especially in physics where I was the only student. Then in university I met so many smart people so I would say I am just above average. Hard work is more important than being clever.
