Question: How do you effectively explain procedures to the patients that must undergo them?

This can be difficult at times when you are working with patients who are lacking capacity, had a stroke or have dementia. I try to be clear and make it as simple as possible. During an ultrasound scan I will show them the machine, the probe and explain what I will be looking at and why and give the opportunity for the patient to ask any questions they may have.
