Absolutely! Maybe not quite like in sci-fi shows, but there is a general rule that wherever you find water, you find some kind of life (like tiny bacteria or other really small things) – that’s why we are always looking for water on places like Mars, or on asteroids. And if all of us on Earth have come to be, there’s no reason to think it can’t have happened somewhere else too!
I don’t know. Life is a very delicate balance on earth – if we’d been a bit nearer or a bit further away from the sun, life wouldn’t have happened. There are lots of planets though, so aliens might exist. If they do, they may be very different from us though: life on earth is based on the element carbon, but life somewhere else may be completely different.
Even if aliens exist, we might never be able to contact them: nothing in the universe can go faster than light, and light takes thousands of years to travel across our galaxy, and there are billions of galaxies in the universe. If there are aliens in another galaxy, we’ll probably never know. Frustrating, isn’t it?
No, because so far there is no (credible) evidence of their existence. I wouldn’t rule it out, but I think it’s unlikely. Lots of scientists are looking (and listening and measuring) for evidence.
I believe that there is a small chance that there could be alien life out there somewhere. The universe is absolutely enormous and scientists have found lots of planets somewhat similar to ours, millions of light years away. They may be very simple life forms though. Maybe by the time they reach us or we reach them, after millions of years of evolution, they could gain intelligence.
