Your brain has got millions of tiny nerve cells all connected to each other and is powered by nutrients you receive from food passed into your blood. It regulates almost everything in your body, from your movement, memories, emotions and body temperature. And its only the size of a cabbage!
The way your brain works is a huge area, I’d suggest search your question on Google and see what it comes up with!
@heallancid Your brain is like a massive computer hub; it receives and sends out thousands of messages all around your body every second to control things like your breathing and the movement of your arms and legs. It also processes signals that you see, hear, touch and smell to build up a picture of what is going on around you. Just like a computer, your brain is only truely “switched off” when you are alseep. This is the time when it can make any repairs so that you are ready to start thinking the next day!
I am very honest here no one knows how it actually works. There are at best established theories about its working. The descriptions provided by Jim and Charlotte are one of the many ways to imagine how it works. I would also say that there are definite proofs which explain Jim and Charlotte’s descriptions of the brain.
Brains are incredible! An area that really fascinates me. Different sections of your brain control different parts of you, personality, creativity, they say that left handed people are more creative and artistic, whereas right handed people tend to be better at problem solving and numeracy. The right side of your brain controls the left side of your body and vice versa.
There is a Scottish rugby player called Euan Murray who famously won’t play on Sundays now since he had a brain injury whilst playing to his temporal lobe. The temporal lobe has been shown to control emotional associations with spirituality and religion.
