  I’m not sure about in my career as I haven’t worked with bateria or viruses, but in daily life yes!
  
  Everytime we wash our hands, or wash dishes, or eat antibiotics, we’re killings millions of theSe beasties all the time. A detergent like good-old fashioned soap can kill almost the same amount of bacteria than an antibacterial handwash/gel. And don’t listen to the adverts on TV that cold virus can survive on kitchen table for days,that’s exaggerated to sell you their cleaning products!
