• Question: Did you complete a aerospace engineering degree in physics while you were in university? Also do you ever think we could ever invent a new type of wing for an aeroplane - even though the current one is the only wing that actually gives the aeroplane wind power to actually take off and stay airbourne?

      No, I did not complete an aerospace engineering degree, I studied biochemistry and got my degree in this subject.
      I am not sure if alternatives to the wing model that is used at the moment are feasible. Maybe Jess knows more about this.

      I didn’t -although I actually very nearly did, and I think it would have been very good. (aerospace is different to a physics degree – although my masters was joint physics and electronic engineering; I didn’t do any aeroplane stuff)
      Different styles of wings are always being invented; such as single wing shapes. Of course; they are all based on our current understanding of physics, and i hope they can push the boundaries. What they really need are whole aeroplane rethinks. i wonder if something like a flying catamaran would work?
