In the UK we’ve been changing the clocks since 1916. A builder called William Willet realised that in the Summer people were wasting daylight in the morning, and then started a campaign to put the clocks forward an hour in the Summer. Sadly he died in 1915, a year before the government agreed to implement the change. So we just change the clocks so we have an extra hour of daylight in the morning in the Summer.
