I’ve had this question a lot in my life! I love dancing and when I was training I pushed myself as much as possible, every opportunity I wanted to dance, or exercise to become better at dancing. By the time I was 16, after 5 years of intensive training, I became unwell through over-training. I continued for another couple of years, but continued to suffer as I didn’t realise my body needed time to recover. Eventually I took some time off and went to University. I went back to dance school, but this time to study dance science and I didn’t really look back. I still dance now, but without the pressures of auditioning and worrying about staying employed as a dancer.
