• Question: if we didnt have bones would our body make some sort of substitute

      If we didn’t have bones then we would probably look a bit like Jabba the Hutt from Star Wars (You can see it here: https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=jabba+the+hutt)

      If our bones weren’t actually made of what bones are usually made of (collagen, and calcium and other stuff like that) then our body would most likely make some sort of different material substitute that would give us the structure that we have now. We need some sort of scaffold to keep us upright and allow us to perform the functions that we do now such as walk and run.

      I suppose it would have done yes, but I guess in some ways it’s a bit like asking if we didn’t have a mouth would the body have found a different way of making us talk – again, probably yes, but then we would really be a different thing. Without our bones we wouldn’t be the same creatures.
