• Question: What GCSEs did you choose to be a Scientist?

      I studied in Spain so I didn’t do GCSEs

      I did double science, maths and further maths, english lit and lang, geography, drama, art, latin, and another one I can’t remember… Honestly though, GCSEs won’t have a big impact on if you become a scientist or not! It’s a bit more important to do a science at A Level, but even then there are exceptions (E.g., I did pure maths, religious studies, and philosophy)

    I would say that GCSE science and maths are the most important to be a scientist.
    But surprisingly many other subjects are useful – for example English for report writing, design/art for creativity, languages are useful when working with multinational teams, maybe even drama or music for the confidence to stand up in front of others and talk about your project. Scientists have to be well rounded people.
