Carbon emissions. Why? Climate change. Over 85% of all the world’s oil and gas is burnt as fuel (all to make things move, make things stop, heat things up or cool things down) and ends up in the atmosphere. Stop that and you stop climate change. Then we can spend more time on cleaning up the environment.

I would remove plastic. Plastic pollution is a major environmental problem as it does not biodegrade and can stay in the environment for hundred of years. It clogs waterways, harms wildlife, and even enters the food chain, posing a potential health risk to humans. So it is important to reduce the use of plastic and recycle the waste to prevent further pollution.

At 3am this morning there was a car alarm going very loudly. So right then I wanted noise pollution to stop.

But green house gas (carbon) emissions have to be the big one. They are producing climate change which leads to more extreme weather situations which leads to problems with drought, flooding, food scarcity and wild fires. By focussing on carbon we will probably also reduce several other types of pollution – gases which produce acid rain or ozone depletion for example.

it’s tough to pick just one!
Air pollution, I would probably remove hydrocarbons (methane, ethane, etc), as they are more environmentally damaging than CO2 and are bigger contributors to climate change!
Water pollution, I would remove fluoropolymer waste, as they are “forever plastics” that do not degrade and can seriously harm health
I would also love to remove light pollution!

I’m debating between air and water pollution. Hard to tell which one is more important!

Carbon and other greenhouse gas pollution. The whole world is strongly affected by these emissions, and preventing their release would stop climate change and give us a chance at a better future for people and planet. Even better, we already have a lot of the technology we need to do this, we just need world leaders and global businesses to agree to make the changes we need.

Plastic pollution – humankind didn’t know the full effects of mass plastic pollution when we started making lots of things from it, and it’s polluted most environments on Earth – it can be even be found in the Antarctic.
