• Question: how big of an impact do you think media and entertainment has had on the perspective of a low carbon zone, especially for the younger generations? Do you think its mainly portrayed in a negative or positive light? If negative, what could be done to change this?

I think the media has played a critical role towards achieving a low carbon world. Some of the programmes that organised by the media especially the BBC has been nothing but exceptional. Also, the media has been helping by giving platform to climate activists to positively influence the next generation of people. The platform that’s been provided to Greta Thunberg and other young activists have been remarkable.

Media can have a significant impact on shaping people’s attitudes about climate change and low carbon zones. For younger generations, who use media and entertainment on regular basis, the impact can be particularly powerful.
Media and entertainment can help to inspire younger generations to take action to reduce carbon footprint and promote sustainable practices by raising awareness about the dangers of climate change. However, media can have also negative impact. Some may promote scepticism or denial of climate change so I think it is important to seek out accurate and reliabe information about low carbon zones and sustainability.

I don’t know if it has been media and entertainment, but I get the impression that the younger generations are a lot more conscious about climate emergency, which I think it is a good thing.

I think some of the media have said things which are untrue about changes we are making to our cities and towns to be more sustainable. They have suggested we are imprisioning people by reducing traffic through residential areas.

The impact of media/entertainment is very difficult to judge. The effect that we see younger generations more engaged with climate change is definitely positive, and if media/entertainment/entertainers have helped that happen then long may it continue!

you always have to be careful with the media because often behind every story is an agenda. media can be biased and present facts in order to suit a particular narrative. they like a big story that sells. Because this makes money. with all things media yes read the headlines but then dig a little deeper do some background research be your own scientist and make up your own mind.

media is good as it brings attention to a subject and highlights it to the people
media is bad- because its not always 100% truthful in what it says and there can be many sides to a story that they do not share.
