• Question: Do you have to wear glasses at work to protect your eyes?

      Hi Katie and Lillian

      I wear glasses all the time because I’m short sighted, so sometimes I get away without wearing anything else as well.

      There are other times when I have to wear extra safety glasses or a full face mask if I think that my glasses won’t be enough to stop my eyes getting damaged if something goes wrong. You only have one pair of eyes and they have to last you all your life!

      No I do not, computers are not all that dangerous. Though hearing protection in our server rooms because of the fan noise.

      Yes – we have to wear lead coats and lead-lined glasses to protect us from all the X-rays!

      Hi Katie and Lillian!

      Yes, I have to wear protective goggles when I work with the laser. They rely on special filters which attenuate the intense light emitted by the laser and which would otherwise permanently damage my eyes.
