  This is a great question!
  
  I started doing cancer research because I wanted to help invent better ways of finding cancer. The ways we have now are OK, and they work quite well, but we still can’t find all the cancers early enough.
  
  With my work I had the chance to take some time to do research, which is quite different to being a normal doctor – and I love it!
