I always see my family and my work as number one priorities (in that order). My children are 12 and 8 years old so seeing them exploring the world and learning how things work is brilliant.
I’ve always liked technology and seeing new cool things.
My happy places are paddling my canoe along a river, walking at the beach or in the forest.
My Christian faith is important to me and I’m a member of my local church.

I used to work in the Automotive industry designing plastic parts for cars. I’ve worked with companies such as Nissan, Honda, Toyota, BMW, Landrover. Also worked with many other engineering sectors such as wind turbines, with artists, safety equipment, garden tools. I love the different challenges all these gave me.
my most memorable projects was designing a table with an artist and helping to restore an old steam engine!

Wake up and shower… this is where I do a lot of thinking and preparing for the day.
GO to work, (sometimes at the university campus sometimes I work from home). Next thing is a nice cup of coffee.
Check emails, attend meetings.
Most enjoyable part of my job is getting to spend time with students and working on design projects. This is fun to share ideas… the first idea is not usually the best so we make as many as possible.
I also manage a team of lecturers, working with them, helping with issues and planning for the future is an important part of every day too.
I’m studying myself for my PhD – reading, writing and carrying out my research is hard work at times but really rewarding.
Go home between 5-6pm – have tea with the family where we catch up with each other and share what we’ve all been doing during the day.
