I think our dreams are a reflection of our subconscious or things that we are thinking about/worrying about a lot! I would probably dream of a dog if I had been thinking of or playing with a dog all day before I went to sleep!

Dreams are our brains filing and processing all the things that we’ve experienced during the day. While we are asleep it can hijack and use bits that would be busy doing other things when we are awake.

As to why we dream what we dream? I’m not sure. Some people believe that what we dream has lots of secret meanings that can be puzzled out. Others think that it all ties back to what we have been doing or thinking about recently. I’m not sure which one is right though.
