Mutation is something that happens slowly over time by the process of evolution. Vitamins and minerals aren’t alive and so can’t evolve or mutate.

Vitamin pills have tight rules and laws surrounding them. This is why they are so expensive, everything has to be double checked and registered and approved by various governments. Because of this some people will tamper with, or replace the pills with cheaper ones that have no nutritional benefits.
