I think that we’ve evolved into the shape that we’re in. We’ve got big brains because we started eating meat which provides lots of energy to help brains grow. With our big brains, we became better hunters and we learnt to walk upright rather than on all-fours because it allowed us to cover greater distances to look for food.

We have adapted to suit our environment, at least people born who suit their environment survived and reproduced whereas those who didn’t died out.

So we grew big to survive, eyes on the front to hunt well, range of teeth to manage different foods, lack of hair to keep cool, big brains for complex social structures, language and eventually to develop tools.

There is another big factor called sexual selection. This may be why we evolve to have things that aren’t necessarily advantageous to our survival but help us to find a mate (I think this might be why women are less hairy than men)

I still think it’s incredible how we developed morals and ethics and loads of “unnatural” behaviours, there are lots of things like that that no-one has completely explained yet.
