• Question: why does bread go mouldy?

      I think bread (like cheese) already has types of mould in it as part of the process of making it and it therefore rapidly takes over when the bread gets old…

      I thin the fungi in bread are killed off when it is cooked, but bread is a great source of food for all other other fungal spores floating around in the air which grow and grow as soon as they land on the bread.

      Yeah. Bread is a nice moist home for mould. When the spores that are floating around in the air land on it, they stick and grow into mould.
