Venus is closer to the sun than the earth, so it’s surface is much hotter. Earth is special because the surface is just the right temperature to have liquid water, because Venus is hotter, any water that was there evaporated and went into space so there probably isn’t any life there.

We have to ask questions of things, and I think this would be an interesting one to think about. So why isn’t our moon like earth, it’s about the same distance from the sun?
