If you swing a bucket of water over your head quickly, the water will not fall out because it’s held into the bottom of the bucket by the centripetal force.
A couple of years ago, I was chatting to some colleagues whilst holding a bucket of water that I’d drained out of a laser and on a whim decided to swing it over my head. What I didn’t notice was that I was standing directly underneath a piece of ducting which the bucket struck as it got directly above me. All the water tipped all over me and the floor. Two years later, I still get teased about it :blushes:

Erm, all my “funny” stories involve health and safety breaches or accidentally destroying equipment, which I really shouldn’t repeat. Anyway, nothing will beat Tim’s story, that’s classic!

A bit slapstick but here we go:
One of the surgeons that works with us is a very nice man, but he can get quite worked up at times. One of these times he came storming in through the door to the laser room and, in front a patient, nurse and scientist, his trousers caught on the door catch and were pretty much ripped clean off.
Rather than cover himself and walk out, he stood in his boxer shorts and dictated a heated complaint to the buildings maintainence people before going to find himself some scrubs.
