      Camera is the cheeky answer.

      We call our machines either Visisize, Envision, VisiVector or VisiWeld but those are just brand names. There isn’t really a name for the types of systems (machines), but there is for the techniques that they use:
      Visisize uses Shadography (or particle droplet image analysis) to look at the silhouettes of particles to measure their size.
      Envision does Spray Patternation (looking at the spray shape and cone angle)
      VisiVector uses a technique called Particle Image Velocimetry, which measures the speed of water and air flows.
      VisiWeld looks through the glare of a welding process to see what’s happening at the weld itself.
