• Question: Is it true that the heart can't get cancer and that researchers are trying to find out what enables the cells that make up the heart to resist cancer.

      The heart can definitely get cancer, but it is very rare, and three quarters are benign. I don’t think it is that well known why it is so rare (much rarer than other forms of cancer), but I guess researchers are looking into it. One theory is because the cells in the heart do not divide very rapidly at all, so that makes it less likely just on probabilty (because there’s less chance for things to go wrong with the DNA during division).
