• Question: Is any form of laser used in computers?

      There is a laser in your CD/DVD drive, and perhaps one day there will be one in your hard-drive too.

      Right now, it’s just as Tom says. There are people working to try to use lasers to send signals between the computer chips inside a computer, but they haven’t managed yet (mainly because the Silicon in the chips isn’t a good thing to make lasers out of, but is great for making electronics and everything that is good for making lasers out of is no good making electronics with).
