• Question: if a familly of people and the peoples offspring live in and around water for centurys will they adapt to living in water and grow gills and get webbed feet and hands?

      As long as there is enough of a struggle that those which didn’t cope well in that environment would die out – then the family might adapt in some way to living there. This could include gills, webbed feet etc, but there may be a simpler solution as it really does take a lot of energy and a very long time to develop such things (think millions of years for gills)

      There may be an issue with ‘inbreeding’ if it was just one family…
