      I guess that the first part of this question is for Tom?
      As far as funky stuff is concerned, we’ve used them for laser light shows in the past. My company supplied lasers for a number of laser light shows in the past.

      I have twin boys age 4 and another 1 year old boy. The picture is of one of the twins a couple of years ago.

      I once made a bar code scanner out of a laser pointer, a photodiode and an element from an ultrasound scanner. Also, when practising with one of our lasers I got to write my name in a block of wood and an aubergine.
