• Question: How big are the lasers that you use to take pictures of small or fast moving things?

      There are a few different types.
      We have diode lasers that are about 25cm x 15cm x 8cm, although the laser diode inside is about the size of a postage stamp (the rest is lenses and electronics).
      We have Nd:YAG lasers, which are about the size of a desktop computer.
      And we have copper vapour lasers that are about 1.5m x 0.5m x 0.5m.

      These are similar sizes to the lasers we use.
