Before I applied to my first medical physics job, I was told that women were much more likely to get to the interview stage – so I let my wife write my application form. There are also a number of ‘pro women in science’ campaigns and grants/jobs available for women only, but I think the intention is to stimulate interest, rather than upset the men. I certainly don’t feel disadvantaged!

In general, people are treated as individuals no matter what sex/race/religion/sexuality or anything else you can think of. Scientists are pretty open minded.

I haven’t, and I’ve not noticed that any of my male or female colleagues have either. My type of work is quite male-dominated, but I don’t consider anyone that I know to be sexist.
